Doom and Gloom (III)

The recent earthquake that struck Indonesia, and the subsequent tsunami, was actually one of a series of earthquakes. A few days earlier there was a magnitude 8.1 earthquake between Macquarie Island and Australia and about a month before that there was a magnitude 6 earthquake in Indonesia. These earthquakes were all around the same tectonic plate, the Australian plate which encompasses all of Australia and the Indian Ocean.

I've mentioned before (“Earthquakes and Pole Flipping”) that there would be an increase in seismic activity and what we are seeing is the start of a cycle. The conventional view of plate tectonics is not the full picture. If there is activity deep down in the earth then there will be seismic activity in a number of apparently unrelated places, and we are about to see and increase in volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. At the end of September 2004, Mt St. Helens in Washington USA increased its activity but hasn't yet erupted. Recently there were a number of severe (6.1) earthquakes in Northern Japan and volcanic activity in Italy. Many prophesies point to global seismic activity at the same time as an increase in conflicts and economic problems. This is no coincidence. The same forces that affect human beings affect the Earth.

I've mentioned before (“Praying to God”) that calamities are a natural part of the evolutionary process. This is all part of the cycle of learning.
