Superficiality
I previously gave an example of a teenage boy who fantasises about having sex with the woman walking in front of him and doesn't see her as a human being with her own views, likes and dislikes ("Segmenting the Mind"). It's a common lament that some men see women purely as sex objects. The middle age man who wants a young mistress hasn't really thought through the implications of how the relationship will last once the sex is over. In fact it's quite common for men to leave immediately after performing sex. They have had what they wanted from the relations so why stick around?
Sex is no basis for an ongoing relationship but if men don't judge a woman purely on her sexual allure then what should they judge them on? The truth is that with some women once you take away the sexual attractiveness there is not much left. Many young women are brought up to demonstrate their assets from an early age and there is less and less subtlety in how this is done. A few years ago to accuse someone of being a porn star would have been a damning insult. Nowadays women wear T-shirts with labels such as 'Porn Star' in large letters written across their chest. Even in offices, females wear low-cut jeans that deliberately show their G-strings, blatantly demonstrating their assets. The problem is that they are showing themselves as sexual beings, so if a man doesn't see them as being sex objects what should he see them as? It's often said that women should be judged on their character or their intelligence. That's all very well for some, but many of these women don't have much in the intelligence department, they haven't been brought up to be able to hold an intelligent conversation, they don't have much personality and they have no interests so their only asset is their sex appeal. Of course this not true of all women, but distressingly it is true of a high proportion of young women. Partying, clubbing, drinking, fashion and drug taking are their interests and for a woman with sex appeal partying and clubbing have the attraction that she will be bought drinks all night and be the centre of attention. For these women, if men started judging them on their brains it would be the end of their world.
