Tantric Sex
I mentioned before (‘Sex in the 21st Century’) about energy and sex. This relates to what has been called tantric sex. The underlying philosophy behind tantric sex is an understanding of energy and as this understanding has pretty well been lost in the West it’s not surprising that most of what is written on tantric sex is nonsense.
From a man’s perspective, energy, that is karmic (or kundalini) energy, is stored
in semen. This is the energy that goes into producing a new life so when a man
ejaculates and semen is released, the body has to use its energy reserves to
form more semen. This can be alleviated in a number of ways - firstly by not
reaching orgasm. It’s possible to control the sex so that you stop just prior
to ejaculating. This is the best method of controlling the sex and means that
the sex can be prolonged indefinitely. There's also a neurological pattern that
comes about in this state where the left and right hemispheres of the brain
work together. Many tantric sex advocates recommend a technique of holding the
semen in during ejaculation by ‘clamping’ the muscles. This requires practice.
The semen later comes out in the urine but by then has released its energy back
into the body. A third technique is the manual clamping of the penis in order
to stop the ejaculate. Rather a crude technique.
When a man ejaculates not only is energy released in the semen but energy is
released as part of the sex act. This energy envelopes the woman and enhances
the relationship between the couple. In a marriage this helps maintain the bond
between the man and the woman. I've mentioned before that when sex is separated
from marriage this energy can bring about strange results in the form of fetishes,
where the energy is related to an inanimate object rather than a person. In
a man this energy is released from the navel but one technique for controlling
this is by covering the left foot with the right foot whilst ejaculating. This
‘short circuits’ the body's energy and stops it being released.
